Not Even a Rabbi

Carl Alexander Roller and Daniel Isaac Weiner were married yesterday at the Egremont Inn in South Egremont, Mass. Barbara J. Cohen, a Jewish spiritual leader, officiated.

Gee, "a Jewish spiritual leader"? Well, she is a Cohen. But no Rabbi.

She may be found here, I presume.

Don't you know rabbis are so 2006?
But seriously, one doesn't need a rabbi to officiate at a wedding, nor does one need a rabbi for any Jewish ritual. So if you're going to be non-traditinal, why buy into the whole Rabbi construct anyway?

Gee, isn't there a legal registration as a clergyman? Anyone can conduct a wedding?
